MAKE A BROCHURE:: Tell What is at the Smithsonian Museum
Purpose: One of the most incredible museums in the United States is the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.
Today you will read about this museum and then make a brochure about the exhibits you can see there.
Instructions:
First, look at many exhibits at the Smithsonian Museum without leaving the classroom! Click here. Explore as you wish for ten minutes to find out information.
JOURNAL ENTRY::
At the site, click on the pictures [of the space suit, car, stamp, Coca-Cola dispenser, Kermit the frog, snail, 1813 American flag, mummy, and panda.
When you choose one and click on the photo, it'll tell you about that exhibit. It is one of the incredible exhibits at this museum. When you see gray dots on the pictures, click on the dots to read more interesting facts about that exhibit.
After clicking on the exhibits [the pictures], go to the reading drawer and get blank white paper. Fold in thirds to make a brochure.
On the cover, write Visit The Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.!. Sketch a photo below of something you would find at the museum.
Inside, write "These are five experiments you can see...". Write two facts about each experiment, yet they can be written any way you'd like, such as a "Did You Know?" fact. Write these facts in your own words.
When you are done, you will have ten facts in all for your brochure.
